Business Administration Goals Essay Example for Free

Business Administration Goals Essay The world of business is one of the most complex yet interesting fields that an aspiring professional may dwell into. Business can turn a poor man into a tycoon just by venturing to franchise, invent a new device or work for a million-dollar company. Even though business may sometimes scare other individuals, it is also the very reason why others strive hard to be a part of the fast-moving commerce elites. As mentioned, it makes great impact to a person’s life. Hence, not all who took the risk was able to succeed, if business is not administered in the most effective way—it could cost a person a lifetime in paying debts. Conceivably, I belong to the group of aspiring individuals who dreams of having a company that will change lives of other people. Even though I am aware of the risks of petitioning myself to the lives of the privileged, I am whole-heartedly stepping forward to pursue my dream. My sole ambition is to serve the public with grace and wit—make ethical decisions and sustain financial stability—but before all that, I know I must be able to hone myself in becoming one. Success does not happen overnight. It requires determination and the right education to build an empire of assets. My dad is a business man. I grew up knowing that being a businessman means being a leader. It does not necessarily mean that I need to have constituents to lead, but that I need to be decisive. My father always told me that business tycoons who failed in the industry were nothing but greedy individuals who does not know a thing or two in making decisions—the ethical ones. Since then I promised to myself that I will be a leader who knows how to lead well. A person anchored not only with tangible assets but with knowledge. Entering college served as a crossroad for my dreams. I was torn between engineering and business. Most of my friends in high school encouraged me to enroll with engineering courses. For a while I was dumbfounded with the thought that neither of my friends wanted to become leaders of tomorrow—own a construction company per se. But my instinct was racing through my veins, as I turn every magazine that featured the finest business tycoons in the country, my heart pounded. I then knew I wanted to be like them. It was a field that I grew up with and it will be what I shall pursue. I had my degree in business administration. The goal that made me pursue my dream was a manifestation of my confidence. The training that I have received inside the walls of the classroom and off to the real world brought out the entrepreneur in me. During my academic years, my mentors taught me how to manage a business entity—the aptitude in solving problems which are based on the comprehension of tools, concepts, and theories of functional business disciplines. Aside from that, it is through education that I acquired the capability to excel functional borders, fusing and integrating information to create multifaceted, short-term decisions with limited data. Education has served me well in honing myself in becoming a capitalist of the 21st century. It was through commencing and conducting researches and divulge in competitive analysis that I was able to apply the strategies that I learnt. I realized that environmental scanning is necessary for long-term strategic decisions. To effectively harness and utilize the dawning of technology and employ such in the most deliberate manner was a mean of keeping one’s game alive. Competition is tight in the business arena. Each player must be prepared and must have forecasting methods to stay in the game. My goal is to enrich my knowledge on these fields which I know are beneficial for my future career. Every individual have a set of goals. Mine only happens not only to be a goal but also a dream that I have long wished to hold a grasp of. I want to improve the knowledge and skills that I have acquired in my tertiary years. I humbly believe that there is more to learn. Given the fact that I am determined to run a company that will provide employment for the underprivileged, I know I need to be equipped with the capacity to balance finances and be armed with managerial skills. In the light, I am optimistic that I will succeed. Every single lesson will help me in the future and possibly help others. I do not only wish to keep the knowledge that I have for myself but I also intend to share these with other aspirants—to help the next generation in raising the economy of the country. Globalization has expanded the face of business in the society. I consider every country an asset as new ordeals shall be discovered. Thus to be able to handle this massive weight of transactions I must learn the twists of every nation’s economy and become skilled at risk management. I am preparing myself for the worst. As mentioned earlier, anything can happen. Although quite on the contrary, I envision myself breaking boundaries. My goal now is to defy the trend of risk-taking; that given the efficient strategies, a blooming entrepreneur will not fail. Individuals who still believe in the necessity of the discipline of business administration to address real world, value laden issues would gain a foothold and began the long climb back to a place in the sun. As modularity becomes an established way of doing business, competition among fresh and old dogs in business will intensify. Nevertheless the society will look for the best-performing or lowest cost goods and services, spurring these increasingly sophisticated and independent suppliers into a race for innovation. The world is full of possibilities, they say. Therefore there is a spark of hope in the goals I have set. I may sound too idealistic in this sense but I am looking on the bright side. I will make my parents proud. I will reach my goals—no matter how tough the ride gets.

Immanuel Kant’s Metaphysics Essay -- Philosophy Philosophical Papers

Immanuel Kant’s Metaphysics THEME In regard to Metaphysics, Kant’s results were seemingly the opposite to what he strove to achieve, cf. the claim, in his Introduction, that â€Å"In this enquiry . . . I venture to assert that there is not a single metaphysical problem which has not been solved, or for the solution of which the key has not been supplied.† In the summing up of his Prolegomena, he records with evident pride in achievement: â€Å"Anyone who has read through and grasped the principles of the CPR . . . will look forward with delight to metaphysics, which is now indeed in his power.† Yet the image of an â€Å"Alleszermalmer† persists, who dismantled the foundations of a philosophical edifice which had barely withstood the ravagement of Hume’s onslaught on its â€Å"occult fancies†! These discrepancies should make us wonder how one of the three greatest thinkers of all time could be so far deluded as to miss the outcome and import of his efforts! I propose to consider this problematic issue from a slightly different than ‘usual’ perspective. I To put the question of the suitability of metaphysics as a science is equivalent to asking, â€Å"what is metaphysical knowledge?†, hence â€Å"can metaphysical conclusions be verified?† In the CPR, this issue is encapsulated in the question, â€Å"How are synthetic a priori judgements possible?† But before I address it, let me offer something as a curtain raiser: The metaphysical possibility as well as the epistemology of newtonian absolute space remained a mystery until Kant solved it . . . [Guyer 10]. My intention here is to throw into focus the possibility of metaphysics having stood still in the interim; that no successor (as Kant indubitably expected) has taken up the cudgels and ... ...g, but in my view a horizon beckoning for metaphysics by which to orient itself. Classical COnditioning Essay -- essays research papers fc

Ivan Pavlov and Classical Conditioning 1904 Nobel Prize Winner, Ivan Pavlov was born in Ryazan, Russia on September 14, 1849. Pavlov is best known for his intricate workings with the drooling dog experiment that lead to his further research in conditioning. This experiment, which began in 1889, had an influence on the development of physiologically oriented behaviorist theories of psychology in the early years of the nineteenth century. His work on the physiology of the digestive glands won him the 1904 Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine. CONTRIBUTIONS Pavlov's first independent work focused on the physiology of the circulation of the blood (Girogian, 1974). He studied the influence of variations in blood volume on blood pressure. He also investigated the nervous control of the heart, and argued that four types of nerves control rhythm and strength of cardiac contractions. It was during this first independent study that Pavlov used unanesthetized, neurologically intact dogs (Girogian, 1974). This method became the mainstay of Pavlov’s methodology. Pavlov’s second independent work centered primarily around digestion. He started studying digestion as early as 1879, and it was his major focus from 1890 to 1897 (Girogian, 1974). His work was an accumulation of observations on the nervous control of one organ system through the method of chronic experiment (Girogian, 1974). The study of digestion involved developing "fistulas" through which secretions from salivary glands, stomach, the pancreas, and small intestine could be collected (Girogian, 1974). His technique was truly unique in that he did not cut the nerve supply nor contaminate the secretions with food. The most famous and well-known experiment of Pavlov is that he 'conditioned' dogs to start a salivary response to the sound of a bell. He began by measuring the amount of salivation in response to only food. As the experiments continued, he rang a bell as he presented the food (Girogian, 1974). Again, he noted a salivary response. Finally, by only ringing the bell, Pavlov observed the same response as having presented food to the dogs . . . salivation (Girogian, 1974). These experiments defined what has been a "conditioned response". CLASSICAL CONDITIONING Classical Conditioning is the type of learning made famous by Pavlov's experiments ... ... a Nobel Laureate for his research in a different field (Fredholm, 1999). In 1904, he received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his pioneering studies of how the digestive system works. Until Pavlov started to scrutinize this field, our knowledge of how food was digested in the stomach, and what mechanisms were responsible for regulating this, were quite foggy. In order to understand the process, Pavlov developed a new way of monitoring what was happening. He surgically made fistulas in animals' stomachs, which enabled him to study the organs and take samples of body fluids from them while they continued to function normally (Fredholm, 1999). Is ethnic profiling really helping society? Essay --

Is ethnic profiling really helping society? Ethnic profiling has been around for some time but is it getting worse? Are too many people going to far? Is it hurting or helping society? Many believe that ethnic profiling is only helping society and but in reality its only tearing us apart for because of the following reason. â€Å"Muslims endure long delay to become U.S Citizens they're pulled out of lines at airports and treated differently from other passengers (Lamkamp)†. Muslims are getting denied to become American just because of their Ethnics. Thats assuming that all Arabs or Muslims are terrorist. Thats like saying all Caucasians are rich. Which not all of them are. â€Å" Travel for many from the middle east has often been quite difficult, but following 9/11 and the Arab Springs it seems to be worsening (Kuwait).† Even though the terrorist attack in 9/11 was horrendous event to go through people should not assume every middle eastern is a terrorist. Many Middle Eastern are afraid of traveling because they think they might get pulled out of lines and get harassed. No one is better than anyone else therefore no one should be able to put themselves on a higher pedestal because they're a different ethnics. Although many believe ethnic profiling is helping society because it helps stop terrorist attacks they're incorrect for the following reason. â€Å" I thought they'd be happy I was leaving but instead they kept me waiting and were glaring at me as if I were a criminal. What's worse they ignored me completely and didn't tell me what was wrong( Ahmed)†. First and foremost they ignored her like she was not ... ... want to do its travel the world like the rest of us. If youre judging them because of their race you need to take a look in the mirror and see what type of person you really are.We are a Human Race and we need to stick together. We should let our differences make us stronger not tear us down. Marther Luther King had a dream that we should be equal and equal we shall be! Works Cited Conrad, Lisa. Re-organization and Layoff Team Discussion & Summary Essay

Mismanaged layoffs can go ‘horribly wrong.’ The effect of mismanaged LAYOFFs on the remaining workforce and the effects, lack of management preparation, the human condition, and lack of mitigation strategies. We think that the problem with this article is that not enough managers or HR personal, know how to let a person go from their employment effectively. They sometimes don’t realize the impact that it has on the other employees morals. Also, that sometimes companies don’t take a closer look to make sure downsizing will be the answer to cutting costs like they think that it will. Every HR or manager should be let go in their lifetime so that they know what it feels like. I believe that this statement holds tremendous merit because the best lessons in life are learned through personal experience. In order to adequately communicate life changing messages of sorts, it should be done by a seasoned manager. I will be very surprised if any company has a potential layoff learning path that will coach and train the management staff for these kinds of things. It is imperative to be sensitive to the individual being laid off as this will impact their livelihood significantly. I do agree that other options much is explored such as relocating or wage cuts before making the decision to lay off people. The Problem Layoffs create uncertainty in the workforce causing loss of productivity in remaining the remaining workforce. The article addresses that a manager’s approach is paramount; we don’t disagree with this sentiment, but I don’t see it as a large of an issue as the author of the article. If a company is at a point where they are laying off employees, all other options should have been exhausted. The author writes the article from the position that managers don’t know how manage and that layoff are ineffective. I agree layoffs are not useful, but an amount of respect or approach refinement is  going to make the loss of income any easier; I compare that to putting lipstick on a pig. Trying to make a bad situation easier is often more disrespectful than being direct. Firing is something that is done privately and should be kept confident between the manager and the employee being let go. If a manager is letting, someone go for the right reasons the example should be evident to the employees as cause and effect; being held accountable for their actions. If the Manager is abusing their hiring/firing authority that would affect employee morale; forced silence, uncertainty, etc. Problem Solutions The options that were covered in the group discussion I feel very informative. When it comes to releasing someone, whether it is a termination or a layoff, it was discussed if training for those types of situations would be suitable, or if one could even prepare to carry out something of that delicate nature. You can train someone how to do anything, but that does not necessarily mean it will be conducted in the manner it was taught. I think it all highly depends on the situation and the individual who is delivering the news to the employee. The author’s best point is one of the best solutions; transparency. Managers should allow people the autonomy of reacting, working through, and coping with a layoff in their own way. Transparency is the most respectful approach that management can take as it shows them the truth of the situation and explains the steps being taken and why. I would add rather than trying to find another position within the company as suggested (the company is already struggling!?) they could offer employment assistance to other enterprises; communicate with other organizations in the same industry to identify openings that people would fit into well. They could put together a communications package that shows them what benefits are available, assistance programs, etc.

They usually interchangeable to see the teachers body linguistic communication and expressions to wear forbidden understand the bailiwick of lessons, highlight the grievous points of the les son with pretty colors, and they Page 2 bedeck the concepts to fully understand and scam it.If information is simply said to them, they will swallow up it easily. Auditory learners remember best what they perceive to. They acquire a lot out of discussion, learn efficiently by explaining things to ACH other, parcel out the underlying meanings of speech through centre their listening to tone of voice, read the pen materials out loud to absorb and memorize them well, and they prefer verbal clarification to optic demonstration. According to Richard M.Folder, or so people of college age and older are visual time or so college teaching is verbal?the information presented is predominantly auditory (lecturing) or a visual representation of auditory information ( enounces and mathematical symbols written in texts and handouts, on transparencies, or on a chalkboard). This present a problem to many learners. C. How we learn? How peck Learn Brain Mind, Experience, and drill reserv e 6 has concluded seven primary points of how people learn 1.Leaning is facilitated when knowledge is structured around major concepts and principles. 2. A learners prior(prenominal) knowledge is the starting point of effective learning. 3. Awareness and self-monitoring of learning (meta-cognition) are primal for acquiring proficiency. 4. Learners belief about their ability to learn affects their supremacy. 5. Recognizing and accommodating differences in the ways people learn are essential. 6. Learning is shaped by the context in which it occurs. . Learning can be fortify through collaboration. These points also were the foundations of the vision for the forthcoming science and engineering learning environment that was anticipated in the new electric and computer engineering curriculum in 2013 and beyond 7. In my paper, I am suggesting a plan that is in line with both points number 1 and 5. capital punishment To implement a teaching plan that focuses on visual and verbal learn ing styles in the computer architecture context, I will be using visual and aural peters to present the content and I will mix using them objet dart I am explaining each concept. The aural tools will be spoken words or written presented text. On the other hand, the visual tools will Page 3 vary between pictures, diagrams and charts. This teaching plan is intended for introducing computer architecture course ACCESS/5200 at University of Colorado at Colorado Spring. Computer architecture definition So, what is computer architecture? What do the computer architects do? The definition will be driven from the p resented pictures above. Computer architects externalize imputer systems.Hence, it is not equal to innovation SIS any more (old definition) SIS is actually a part of computer architecture. The word architecture nowadays covers all three aspects of computer design instruction set architecture, organization or macrostructure, and hardware 8. Computer architecture has been defined as designing the organization and hardware of the computer to butt against goals and Measurement and Analysis Design Requirements and Castrations operable requirements 8 (figure 1). 4. Computer architecture intersection SIS Compiler Logical design Computer architecture is not a stand-alone subject. In order to obtain better computer design, it calls for familiarities with several topics like What do the computer architects do? Computer architecture classification The most popular known classification of the computer architecture is Flans taxonomy. It insiders only the computer processor of the intentional computer system. The memory, interconnections, 1/0 devises arent involved in Flans taxonomy. The processor receive two kinds of information flow whether data or instruction. According to Flans taxonomy, both of the instruction or data streams can be single or multiple. Architects design architecture for a given technology. Technology parameters quickly alteration over time. So, it is important to trace the technology trends and plan for it as architects (figure 3). So, I am going to follow the content of this book to introduce the computer architecture topics. Here is a dependence diagram to present the course topics and the book chapters at the same time in relat ional manner to give the student a glance of how the topics are structured. Also, it can be extended by construction up new dependency dealings between the chapters as the teacher start to explain them later on the course. This rule is to facilitate the learning according to How People Learn book 6 point number one. cranny 1 Fundamentals of Quantitative Design and Analysis associate 2 Memory hierarchy design Chap 3 instruction-Level Parallelism Chap 4 Data-Level Parallelism attachment B Appendix C Chap 5 Multiprocessors and filamentlike Parallelism page 7 Chap 6 The Warehouse-Scale Computer 8. Close the bubble by summarizing the information. In conclusion, the computer architecture is to design the organization and the hardware of the computer to meet its functional requirements and intended goals. To do that best, architects asked for winning the technology trends in its esteem to lengthen the life of the designed architects and for taking advantages of parallelism in order to shake off it scalable and efficient. Measurement and Analysis Indeed, right one thing needs to change in the teaching plan to ask both visual and verbal learning styles- change the way to present information, extend visual aids in rise to power to verbal ones. Evaluation In this section, I am going to suggest an evaluating modus operandi consist of two parts joy evaluation and outcome evaluation.First, to assess the felicity of this Lana, instructor can look to the learning style for each student in the class using one of the learning styles inventory test that are provided online like http// www. Learning-storyline. Com/inventory/questions. PH? Cockiest=y or http// Then, count the percentage of students that has visual learning style, aural learning style, and other styles. After that, calculate the how much of the students learning styles are covered by this plan design, sum visual and verbal students. Finally, count the billet of students learning styles that this plan considered to evaluate the phase of satisfaction. Second, in a teaching and learning, the most actual evaluation is that which on the undercoat of students learning outcomes. So, to measure this plan outcome, instructor can use either way quantitative or qualitative approach like request some bespeak questions to Page 8 students to examine their intellectual print out an assessment enquiry and give it to each student (figure 4) asking all the students if they have any questions about the lecture.I recommend the simplest evaluating methodology like the method suggested in 9,instructors should avoid questions or situations that could call it wizard for students to respond (Who is lost? ) or are so generic as to lead to nonresidents (Are there any questions? ). Instead, instructors should pose questions that encourage more specific responses, (e. G. , How many of you understand what we are public lecture about? ). Name ? What is computer architecture? Name From 1 to 10 How muc h important is this course? How much you conjecture you can learn this course? As (high medium low) How much important is this course? How much you think you can learn this course? Figure 4 example of printed students assessment Discussion In USC computer architecture class, while implementing the presented approach, I witness a further unintended advantage. The main goal for this plan was to match the learning style for the visual and verbal learners. further I discovered that it has advantages even if the learning style doesnt match the student like the case of planetary students.Indeed, this plan improves the learning for the verbal learners who are taught by a different language from what they are natively speak. thither was almost 15% of the students in the ACCESS at USC are international students. This approach can contribute to solve the learning difficulties that the international students face. Assuming that the international students misinterpret 5% to 35% from the s poken language in the lecture, due to the lack of their side of meat vocabularies and synonyms that they are familiar with, the percentage judge to decrease when the instructor uses visual tools in their teaching.Consequently, the progress is accomplished by cut the misunderstanding percentage of the international students. detect the visualization tools in this teaching plan, it was equal for the context that they have been exploited in. wholeness of the efficient teaching visualization tools to computer architecture course is simulators 10, it hasnt employ in this suggested plan because it had addressed introducing the course but it still can be utilise later on the lectures. It helps explaining the main concepts in the course such as mainframe 1 1, SIS, or cache memory. Page 9 Even if the computer architecture topics expand, this suggested plan will still be applicable and it will not needs epochal changes. Conclusion In conclusion, the main effort in this paper was a p arcel to utilize delivering the computer architecture content to the students. I have use a teaching method that focuses on students learning style and I have designed a constructible teaching plan.In my suggested designed teaching plan for the first day of computer architecture class, I have elect two basic learning styles of student, visual and verbal learning styles. Then, I propose a way to evaluate the success of it. In my discussion, I discussed several points I highlighted a benefit for this approach for international students as well mentioned visualization tools are useful and recommended additional one that havent used but can be used later in the course, simulations is useful for chemotherapeutics.
